In honor of International Women’s Day, an estimated 2,000 people participated in a #DayWithoutWomen rally on March 8 and marched from 59th Street and Fifth Avenue to Trump International Hotel and Tower near Columbus Circle. Women and supporters were encouraged to show their support by wearing red. While walking along the southern border of Central Park, marchers chanted “Whose streets? Our streets!”, “A Day Without Women is a Day Without Me!” and other slogans. After protesters blocked traffic, 13 women were arrested at Trump International, including one of the march organizers, activist Linda Sarsour.
