    Police Arrest Man in Violent Assault on Two Hotel Workers

    A woman working at the Pendry Manhattan West hotel at 438 West 33rd St. between Ninth Ave. and Tenth Ave. told police that at 10 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, she got off the elevator at the eighth floor and a 39-year-old man tried to kiss her. She bit him, and he repeatedly punched her in the face and neck and then grabbed her hair and threw her against the wall.

    A 43-year-old male coworker of the victim heard his colleague getting assaulted and apparently tried to intercede, but the suspect repeatedly punched him in the face as well. The woman suffered pain, bleeding, swelling and discomfort after the assault, and her male colleague suffered bleeding, pain and redness. Christopher Park was duly arrested and charged with assault. He also attempted to resist arrest by wrestling with officers and flailing his legs.

    Stranger Chokes Woman on Subway

    A 21-year-old woman said that at 26 minutes after midnight on Sunday, November 14, she was sitting on board a southbound E train nearing 23rd St. when an unknown man approached her, said “I will hurt you” and put his arm around her neck, obstructing her breathing. Fortunately, her 19-year-old male companion was able to push the suspect away. The victim got off at the 23rd St. Station while the suspect stayed on the train. Police said the victim sustained no visible injuries, she had not lost consciousness during the incident and she declined medical attention at the scene.

    Woman Hit in Head by Boy on Scooter

    Police reported that at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 11, a 28-year-old woman had just left a Gristedes store when a group of young boys on scooters rode past her in front of 225 Eighth Ave. near West 22nd St. and one 11-year-old hit her in the back of her head with his hand, causing pain. The gang was last seen fleeing the scene, heading northbound on the west side of Eighth Ave.

    Property Stolen at Local Hotel

    According to police, at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, November 12, an 18-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman returned to their hotel room at the POD Times Square hotel at 400 West 42nd St. near Ninth Ave. and discovered that items of their property were missing. The victims told police they found no damage to their hotel room door. The items stolen included two MacBook Pro laptops valued at $2,600, an iPad Pro tablet worth $1,000, a Louis Vuitton Neverfull bag priced at $1,500, $500 in cash, another iPad selling for $900, a pair of AirPods worth $200, an Apple Pen valued at $150 and furs and clothing amounting to $800, making a total stolen of $7,650. Apparently, items of property totaling $6,350 were later recovered.
