Animal Care Center of NYC
Manhattan Animal Care Center
326 East 110th St.
At the Animal Care Center of NYC, volunteers play a major role in caring for the animals. Primarily, they interact with the shelter pets to help provide them with exercise, attention, comfort and socialization. All of this builds their trust with humans and helps them become adopted. Volunteers may also be asked to help maintain the kennels, take photographs, write pet bios, assist in adoption counseling, join outreach efforts and provide administrative assistance. Visit their website to apply.
